China and EU make major breakthrough in EV anti-subsidy talks

China and the European Union (EU) have achieved significant progress in consultations over the EU's anti-subsidy measures on Chinese electric vehicles, with the European Commission issuing new guidance on price undertaking applications -- an alternative mechanism that could allow Chinese exporters to avoid punitive tariffs and ease trade tensions under World Trade Organization (WTO) rules.
