China petroleum coke imports up 51.32% MoM in Dec 2025

In December 2025, China's petroleum coke imports increased by 51.32% MoM to 1.37 mln tonnes. Exports decreased by 33.50% from the previous month to 16,700 tonnes. For January 2026, imports are projected to reach 1.25 million tonnes, while exports are expected to be around 15,000 tonnes.

In December 2025, China's imports of uncalcined petroleum coke reached 1.37 million tonnes, a significant increase of 51.32% month-on-month (MoM) and 39.41% year-on-year (YoY). Exports for the same period were only 16,700 tonnes, down 33.50% MoM but still up 44.92% YoY. The average import price edged down to $229.34/tonne,
