Mongolia's 2025 coal output holds steady on year

Mongolia's coal output for full-year 2025 totalled 95.45 million tonnes, basically flat from the 95.1 million tonnes recorded the previous year, according to preliminary results published in the December bulletin of Mongolia's National Statistical Office (NSO).

Among the total, output of hard coal, mainly coking coal for steelmaking, accounted for 82.98 million tonnes, while that of lignite reached 12.47 million tonnes, up 0.3% and 1.1% from their year-ago levels respectively.
