According to CCTV News, Turkey and Saudi Arabia signed an intergovernmental renewable energy investment agreement in the Saudi capital Riyadh on February 3rd local time. Saudi Arabia will invest approximately US$2 billion to develop solar and wind power projects in Turkey, with a total installed capacity of 5,000 megawatts.
Under the agreement, the projects will be implemented by Saudi enterprises within Turkey. The first phase involves the construction of solar power stations with a total capacity of about 2,000 megawatts in Sivas Province and Karaman Province in central Turkey.
