Data from Indonesia's Central Statistics Agency (BPS) shows that the country imported a total of 15.84 million tonnes of nickel ore throughout 2025. The majority of these imports came from the Philippines, with a volume reaching 15.33 million tonnes.
In value terms, Indonesia's nickel ore imports from the Philippines amounted to US $725.17 million. This figure also accounts for 97% of Indonesia's total nickel ore import value in 2025, which is estimated at US $747.32 million.
The following is the list of origin countries for Indonesia's nickel ore imports in 2025 based on BPS data:
1. Australia: 0.033 tonnes
2. Brazil: 0.020 tonnes
3. China: 218.007 tonnes
4. Malaysia: 0.001 tonnes
5. Netherlands: 0.002 tonnes
6. Philippines: 15.33 million tonnes
7. Solomon Islands: 288.440 tonnes
8. United States: 0.124 tonnes
