Coal exports via Australia's Newcastle port fall 17% MoM in January

Exports of Australian coal through the Port of Newcastle in New South Wales totalled 12.73 million tonnes in January, down 17.3% from last December, according to the latest port data on February 11.
The on-month decline mainly reflected the high basis of comparison recorded in December when coal shipments from the port hit their highest level in six years at 15.4 million tonnes, as Mysteel Global reported.   On a yearly basis, the January reading represented a strong climb of 23.5%, Mysteel Global calculated
