According to Mysteel's survey, the China's domestic lithium carbonate production in February 2026 reported 82,500 tonnes, a month-on-month decrease of 16.2%, primarily due to holiday maintenance and fewer working days in February. The surveyed production scheduling for March 2026 is 106,700 tonnes, a substantial month-on-month increase of 29.4% driven by the removal of the Chinese New Year holiday disruption, and the operating rates for spodumene-based production lines, mainly in Sichuan, Jiangxi, and Xinjiang, are expected to increase significantly.
On the demand side, China's lithium iron phosphate production in March 2026 is projected to rise to 446,900 tonnes, a month-on-month increase of 15.48%. Taken together, the domestic lithium carbonate market in March is expected to maintain a tight balance.
