Taiwan's Feng Hsin hikes rebar, scrap prices

Feng Hsin Steel, Taiwan's largest rebar producer headquartered in Taichung in central Taiwan, has decided to raise its rebar list prices and buying prices of local scrap for transactions over March 9-13 to reflect higher production costs, according to a company official.

With the latest adjustment, the Taiwanese mini-mill is offering its 13mm-diameter rebar at TWD 17,500/tonne ($551/t) EXW for business negotiations till this Friday, higher by TWD 300/t on week, while its buying price for local HMS 1&2 80:20 scrap reaches TWD 9,000/t for an on-week rise of TWD 200/t,
