In February, nickel ore imports from the Philippines to China decreased by 9.71% month-on-month to 977,367 tonnes, according to the General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China (GACC). Meanwhile, the production of MHP in Indonesia dropped by 4.18% MoM to 39,000 tonnes in February, and nickel matte production dropped by 1.69% MoM to 40,800 tonnes.In the NPI sector, low-grade nickel pig iron (NPI) production decreased 28.67% MoM to 4,655 tonnes, while high-grade NPI production increased 10.59% to 16,424 tonnes in February, based on the data from Mysteel.China's nickel sulfate production totaled 135,109 tonnes in February, or 29,724 tonnes in Ni. content in February, down 19.86% month on month (MoM) according to Mysteel survey.
