On March 25, the commissioning ceremony of Guangzhou Youmei Recycling Technology Co., Ltd. was held in Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province. According to public information, Guangzhou Youmei is jointly invested by UPI Energy, a wholly-owned subsidiary of GAC Group, and Wuhan Power Battery Recycling Technology Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of GEM.
It is reported that Guangzhou Youmei, leveraging two proprietary core technologies that are industry firsts, "full-membrane process for lithium regeneration" and "liquid-phase nondestructive separation", has established an integrated closed-loop recycling system covering power and energy storage batteries, forming three core capacity matrices. The company has achieved dual breakthroughs in production efficiency and environmental sustainability. Meanwhile, auxiliary material consumption is reduced by 90% compared to the industry average, the lithium carbonate recovery rate exceeds 95%, 5% higher than the industry average. The comprehensive cost of recycled products is optimized by 30% relative to industry benchmarks, with performance matching that of primary materials. Additionally, the facility is fully equipped with photovoltaic and energy storage systems, using clean energy to power the entire production process, thereby providing strong support for GAC Group's steady progress toward its "dual carbon" goals.
