OECD holds global growth forecast for 2026 at 2.9%

Despite the present instability in global energy prices from the ongoing hostilities in the Middle East, the latest Economic Outlook report of Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) released on March 26 says that global economic growth is projected to remain stable at 2.9% in 2026.

Although the forecast for this year is unchanged from the OECD's previous forecast issued in December 2025, that for growth in 2027 has been shaved lower to 3% from the previous prediction of 3.1%.
