Shagang squeezes more hot metal from China's largest BF

Netherlands-based heavy engineering firm Danieli Corus has announced that the installation of a new lining and cooling system on the No.4 blast furnace at the Zhangjiagang works of Shagang Group (Shagang) in East China has lifted the unit’s hot metal production capacity and considerably extended its life.

The furnace, first blown-in in 2009, has an inner volume of 5,800 cubic metres and is presently the largest in China.
