On April 13, 2025, Wuling Motors and CATL officially signed a strategic cooperation agreement. According to the agreement, all of Wuling's battery-swapping vehicle models will be connected to CATL's nationwide battery-swapping network.
CATL plans to complete the construction of over 3,000 battery-swapping stations by the end of this year, covering battery specifications ranging from 42 kWh to 56 kWh. These stations will be compatible with various Wuling vehicle models, including micro commuter cars, family sedans, and logistics vehicles, enabling fast battery swapping with a "swap and go" experience, where a single swap takes only a few minutes.
This cooperation is not limited to the battery-swapping sector. CATL will also become the core battery supplier for more than 15 EV models across Wuling's entire lineup. The partnership has thus been upgraded from a previous single battery supply relationship to a full-scenario ecosystem strategic cooperation.
In addition, the two parties will jointly advance the research and development of fast-charging technology, aiming to shorten the charging time from 10% to 80% state of charge to less than 10 minutes, providing users with a diversified energy replenishment solution that combines both battery swapping and fast charging.
