China sulfur imports hit five-year low in Q1 2026

China's sulfur imports in Q1 2026 fell sharply to a five-year low, down 37.67% YoY. The import source structure has shifted significantly, moving away from the Middle East toward more diversified suppliers.
According to the General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China (GACC), China imported 516,300 tonnes of sulfur in March 2026, down 4.05% month-on-month (MoM) and 42.20% year-on-year (YoY). In Q1 2026, total imports reached 1,550,100 tonnes, down 37.67% from Q1 2025 and 45.13% from Q1 2024,
