Huayou Cobalt announced that its Indonesian subsidiary, Huafei Nickel Cobalt, will temporarily shut down some production lines for maintenance starting May 1, 2026, due to a sharp rise in sulfur prices and high operating loads. The maintenance is expected to affect approximately 50% of output. In 2025, Huafei Nickel Cobalt recorded revenue of Yuan 14.495 billion and net profit of Yuan 1.252 billion.
Based on Huayou's 51% stake, the net profit attributable to the parent company at the consolidated level was 569 million yuan, accounting for 9.32% of Huayou's total attributable net profit. The maintenance is expected to have some adverse impact on near-term performance, and the company will take measures such as process upgrades and expanding sulfur supply sources to address the situation.
