On April 30, the Administrative Committee of Sichuan Gong County Economic Development Zone released the 'First Environmental Impact Assessment Public Notice for the Lithium Sulfide Project, a Key Raw Material for All-Solid-State Batteries, by Yibin All-Solid-State New Materials Co., Ltd.,' marking the upcoming launch of another lithium sulfide project.
The project will be located in the Gong County Economic Development Zone. The project developer plans to lease existing factory buildings within the zone to establish a lithium sulfide pilot plant with an annual production capacity of 80 tonnes of lithium sulfide.
Previously, several companies have announced progress on their lithium sulfide pilot lines. Last year, Tianqi Lithium disclosed a pilot project with an annual output of 50 tonnes of lithium sulfide. Early this year, Wanrun New Energy revealed that construction of its pilot line had been initiated, with a target to complete construction around the end of June. Tinci Materials plans to bring its hundred-tonne-level lithium sulfide pilot line into operation in Q3. SEMCORP has stated that its high-purity lithium sulfide pilot line has been completed, and its 10-tonne-level solid-state electrolyte production line is already operational.
