China's May PE maintenance-driven capacity loss hit 650,000 tonnes, exceeding estimates and PE prices are expected to remain range-bound in the short run on tight supply.
In May, China's polyethylene (PE) supply was significantly affected by unexpected maintenance, with output below plan.   According to OilChem, China PE capacity losses from maintenance in May stood at 650,000 tonnes, down 119,100 tonnes month-on-month (April: 769,100 tonnes) but 180,000 tonnes higher than the late April estimate of 420,000 tonnes.   China
