Recently, the Ningxiang Municipal People's Government of Hunan Province released the public announcement of the environmental impact assessment approval decision for the Production Capacity Expansion Project for Power Battery Recycling at Plant 1 of Hunan Brunp Recycling Technology Co., Ltd.
According to the public information, the project has a total investment of Yuan 67.6 million. It mainly adds two production lines for processing un-electrolyzed batteries and scrap materials, with a total processing capacity of 20,000 tonnes per year. The pretreatment capacity for waste lithium battery cells will be increased from the current 8,100 tonnes per year to 20,000 tonnes per year. A low-temperature drying safety process will be introduced, along with a lithium bicarbonate method for producing lithium carbonate. The lithium carbonate production capacity will be raised from the current 3,000 tonnes per year to 7,000 tonnes per year. Upon completion of the renovation and expansion project, the facility will produce 13,150 tonnes of nickel-cobalt-manganese (NCM) precursor and 7,000 tonnes of battery-grade lithium carbonate annually.
