Canada's coal output rises 5% MoM in March

Canada's production of all types of coal reached 3.13 million tonnes in March, up 4.7% on month but down 18% on year, Mysteel Global calculated based on the latest release from Statistics Canada.

Output of bituminous coal (including types used in steelmaking and power generation) reached 2.66 million tonnes, accounting for around 85% of Canada's coal production in March. This volume was 4.7% higher from February but 22.7% lower on year, according to the data. Statistics Canada does not break down bituminous coal
