UPDATE: More Shanxi coking coal mines resume operations

Following the widespread safety inspections and mine suspensions in North China's Shanxi province in response to the deadly mine accident on May 22, as of June 3 some 59 coking coal mines had resumed operations, new industry data show. However, the scope of inspections seems to continue expanding, with five more mines newly investigated.

According to Mysteel's latest survey released on June 3, operations at a total of 134 coking coal mines in Shanxi had been disrupted by intensive mine-safety checks in the province.
