Mine offers stayed relatively firm, but NPI smelters lowered their target purchase prices. In Indonesia, domestic ore high prices continued to soften, with actual pyrometallurgical ore procurement premiums mostly at $5-8/wmt. The market awaited the July quota revision, focusing on the scale of additional supplementary quotas. Freight rates stayed weak, with the Surigao-Lianyungang route at about $15/wmt; easing Middle East tensions were expected to reduce bunker costs, likely pushing freight rates further down.The nickel sulfate market extended its weak downtrend, with the price center moving lower. On the cost side, global nickel metal prices pulled back within a range, weakening cost support and limiting producers' ability to pass on price hikes.
