China's ammonium chloride exports hit a yearly monthly high in May 2026 at 265,500 tonnes (+37.07% MoM; Jan-May +21.35% YoY, GACC), with average prices also peaking since last year. This surge stemmed from March orders booked amid Middle East tensions that lifted international urea prices and boosted buying sentiment. However, with easing geopolitics, falling urea prices, Southeast Asia's demand off-season, and likely overbuying, replenishment appetite stays subdued; pending export rule details, the market awaits fresh catalysts.

According to the data of General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China (GACC), in May 2026, China's ammonium chloride exports stood at 265,500 tonnes, up 37.07% month-on-month; for the January-May period, cumulative shipments reached 1,116,900 tonnes, a year-on-year increase of 21.35%.
