China's Yangxi Power breaks ground on world's largest coal-fired power plant

Yangxi Power Plant in South China's Guangdong province has begun construction on its 7th and 8th generating units, both rated at 1.24 million kilowatts (kW), a project that upon completion will make it the world's largest coal-fired power station by installed capacity, developer Guangdong Pearl River Investment Management Group announced.
