CVWorld: China's heavy truck sales leap 22% YoY in H1

China's heavy-duty truck market ended the first half of 2026 on a bright note, with total sales from makers direct to dealers including for export reaching around 660,000 units over January-June, higher by 22% on year, according to a preliminary estimate by the Beijing-headquartered Commercial Vehicle World, a well-recognized market intelligence provider on China's truck manufacturing sector.

For June alone, sales jumped by 18% on year and by 5% from May to around 115,000 units, CVWorld estimated. Although the research firm provided no initial comment on the heavy truck segment's H1 performance, the on-year and on-month rises most likely related to impressive sales of new energy-powered trucks.
