On July 14, Tianqi Lithium announced that it expects to record a net profit attributable to shareholders of the listed company of Yuan 2.85 billion to 4.25 billion for the first half of 2026, representing a year-on-year increase of 3,276% to 4,935%.
The significant improvement in performance was mainly attributable to the robust development of the new energy industry and growing downstream demand, which led to a notable increase in the average selling price of the company's major lithium products compared with the same period last year. In addition, the performance of its associate company, SQM, is expected to increase substantially YoY, and the investment income recognized by Tianqi Lithium from SQM also rose sharply compared with the prior-year period.
Note: The company's Q2 net profit is estimated at Yuan 974 million to 2.374 billion, compared with Q1 net profit of Yuan 1.876 billion. Based on this, Q2 net profit is expected to change by -48% to +26% quarter-on-quarter.
