GACC: China H1 aluminum scrap imports drop 3% YoY

China imported a total of 981,807 tonnes of aluminum scrap during January-June this year, lower by 3% compared with the same period last year, according to the latest data released by the country's General Administration of Customs (GACC).

In June alone, China's aluminum scrap imports reached 132,825 tonnes, dropping for the third straight month by 12.6% from May, and the volume was also 14.6% lower on year, the GACC data showed. Notably, imports from Thailand, China's top aluminum scrap supplier, slumped by 10.4% on month and 22.4% on
