FLASH: GEM has made technological deployments and achieved breakthrough progress across various technical routes for solid-state battery cathode materials

GEM recently stated during institutional investor surveys that the company has made technological deployments and achieved breakthrough progress across various technical routes for solid-state battery cathode materials, including high-nickel, ultra-high-nickel, and lithium-rich manganese-based materials, with all routes having achieved tonne-level product shipments. The company has jointly established a "Solid-State Battery Cathode Materials Joint Laboratory" with the Eastern Institute of Technology, Ningbo and Academician Sun Xueliang's team to drive industrialization of related technologies. This collaboration has formed a three-tier talent system of "academicians–professors–engineers" and a three-tier innovation platform of "university basic research–enterprise pilot-scale technology platform–industrialization innovation," focusing on original innovation and industrialization of key technologies across the full solid-state battery chain. The efforts are aimed at rapidly overcoming critical technical bottlenecks in cathode materials, electrode interface modification, solid-state cell assembly, and solid-state battery recycling, while establishing a full-chain innovation architecture spanning basic research, pilot-scale development, and mass production. GEM intends to build a "world-class" full-industry-chain key technology encompassing solid-state battery cathode materials, interface modification, and battery recycling, tackling the tough challenges of key materials and technologies for solid-state lithium batteries. This strategic move positions the company at the forefront of the global solid-state lithium battery industrialization race, supports national competitiveness in the sector, and opens up a new growth channel for GEM's future new-energy business.
