PetroChina started its 1.2 mln t/y Tarim ethane cracker on 16 July, raising China's dedicated ethane fleet to 6.3 mln t/y (11.5% of national ethylene capacity, per OilChem). The added 1.45 mln t/y of FDPE, PP and PBR directly targets Southern Xinjiang's high-end polyolefin and rubber shortfalls.
