Indonesian Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia has emphasised that the government prioritises the approval of work plans and budgets (RKAB) for mining companies that pay higher royalty rates to the state.
"Some companies pay 19% royalties, while others pay 11%. Naturally, we will prioritise those paying 19%. This policy is aimed at maximising benefits for the state and the people," Bahlil said at the ministry's office in Jakarta on Monday (August 3, 2026).
Bahlil explained that the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) is gradually relaxing RKAB quotas, taking into account both domestic demand and international commodity price movements.
He confirmed that production quotas under the RKAB have been adjusted, though he declined to provide details in order to maintain market stability.
