China's PVC supply expected to tighten in near term

China's PVC supply is expected to be shrink in the short run, thanks to the rising maintenance loss, and as the social inventory of PVC will continue to decline. However, the tightness will fail to bring a strong rebound for PVC market, given persistently weak domestic and export demand.

The operating rate of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) unit will drop amid maintenance in the near term. OilChem's data indicates that the average operating rate will retreat to 72.23% during August 7-13, down 1.53 percentage points week-on-week.
