Wanhua, Formosa shut combined 1.41mln t/y phenol/acetone units

Two major phenol/acetone units totaling 1.41mln t/y underwent maintenance on 10 August, tightening East China supply and pushing acetone prices higher, per OilChem. Wanhua's 780,000 t/y unit began a planned 45day turnaround, while Formosa's 630,000 t/y unit shut unexpectedly on feedstock shortage with no restart date.
