NEA: China's July power use hits record but growth cools to 1.7% YoY

China's power consumption reached 1.04 trillion kilowatt hours (kWh) in July, a monthly record, but growth in usage slowed to 1.7% year on year the slowest pace since March 2025 and down from 3.7% in June, according to data released by the National Energy Administration (NEA) on August 21.
