CISA: Members' daily crude steel output stays steady in mid-August

Daily crude steel output among the member mills of the China Iron and Steel Association (CISA) remained largely stable during August 11-20, with production declining by a tiny 0.4% or 8,000 tonnes/day from the first ten days of the month to average 1.97 million t/d, according to the latest release from the association on August 25.

The average was lower by a larger 7.1% compared with the level during the corresponding period last year, the CISA statistics revealed. Based on the performance of its member mills, CISA estimated that daily crude steel output among both member mills and non-member mills during August 11-20 decreased by 6.7%
