China's August ECH output rise 7.66% MoM

China's ECH output rose 7.66% month-on-month to 125.1 kt in August, with industry utilization at 47.71% (OilChem), yet September output is forecast to edge down to 121.5 kt. The propylene route ran near full capacity (99.66%) on healthy margins, while the glycerin route remained deeply loss-making despite a slight run-rate increase. Restarts from offline glycerin units in September will be largely offset by cuts elsewhere, keeping supply broadly stable. Monitor glycerin costs and planned maintenance for near-term price direction.

According to OilChem data, China's epichlorohydrin (ECH) output rose to 125.1 kt in August, up by 7.66% from July and 10.98% year-on-year, as the industry's average capacity utilization rate edged up to 47.71%, 3.4 percentage points higher than the previous month but 0.07 percentage points lower than a year
