GACC: China's iron ore imports in Jan-Aug rise 5.5% YoY

China imported a total of 845.27 million tonnes of iron ore during January-August this year, marking a 5.5% increase compared with the same period in 2025, the latest statistics released by the country's General Administration of Customs (GACC) published on September 8 show.

In August alone, the country brought in 108.54 million tonnes of ore, up 0.4% from July, indicating a largely stable monthly performance, though the volume was 3.1% higher on year. Global iron ore supply saw a seasonal recovery last month. Mysteel's tracking showed that deliveries from worldwide miners increased by
