NBS: China's crude steel output over Jan-Aug falls 3.1% YoY

China's crude steel output totaled 651.85 million tonnes during the first eight months of this year, down by 3.1% compared with the same period last year, according to the latest release from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) on Tuesday morning.

For August alone, China produced 74.61 million tonnes of crude steel, marking an on-year fall of 3.7%, the NBS statistics showed. On a daily basis, the country's crude steel output averaged 2.41 million tonnes/day last month, down by 3% from that for July, Mysteel Global calculated based on NBS
