China's top coal mining city reaffirms supply discipline as prices climb

Ordos, China's largest coal-producing city located in the Inner Mongolia autonomous region, has ordered its mines to keep production within approved capacity, saying rising prices and wider margins are tempting some operators to put output before safety, according to an emergency notice released by the local mine safety administration on September 11.

The notice began circulating among participants on September 15 although Mysteel Global has yet to find the document on official city websites. The advisory contains two hard directives.
