China's MEK exports fall 33.7% MoM in August

China's MEK exports fell 33.7% MoM in August but rose 35.3% YoY, near YTD low, per GACC. Avg export price was $1,002/t, after May's record 42,010 t on Hormuz supply gaps. OilChem sees exports high through Sept-Oct, but narrowed arbitrage, returning overseas supply and new South China capacity will intensify competition, making exports key to balance domestic supply. According to the data of General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China (GACC), China's butanone exports rose 35.3% year-on-year in August, with the average export price assessed at $1,002/tonne. The August volume was close to January's 16,365 tonnes, the year's lowest, leaving August near the bottom
