FLASH: China wafer exports rise 38% in Jan-Aug

China exported 5.658 billion solar wafers in January-August 2026, up 38% year on year, while export value fell 15.6% to $1.059 billion. The latest monthly data were available by September 28 2026, covering August 2026, but no specific release time was disclosed. The divergence indicates that shipment growth has been driven mainly by volume rather than price, with average export unit values declining sharply. India remained the largest destination at 1.945 billion wafers, leaving Chinese wafer makers dependent on overseas demand even as export margins weaken.
