GACC: Stagnant shipments to South Korea lower China's coal exports in Sept

China's exports of coal and lignite worldwide dropped 11% on month and 21% on year in September due to a sharp slump in shipments to South Korea, with the total volume for the month reaching 572,028 tonnes, according to the latest data from China's General Administration of Customs (GACC).

South Korea is typically one of China's major coal export destinations, together with Japan and Indonesia. The GACC's data, however, recorded barely any shipments to the northeast Asian country last month, except for only 45 tonnes of anthracite. Instead, shipments to Japan made up most China's coal exports last month.
