WEEKLY: Strong futures lift Chinese spot lead prices

Chinese spot prices of primary and secondary lead both strengthened again during September 6-13, extending their uptrend that began since early last month, Mysteel's assessment showed. Driven up the prices was mainly the further rise in lead futures prices, despite that domestic lead demand among downstream users stayed dull recently, market sources shared.

As of September 13, the national price of primary lead ingot (at least 99.994%) increased to Yuan 16,763/tonne ($2,305/t) including the 13% VAT, up by a total of Yuan 179/t from the prior Wednesday, Mysteel's tracking showed.
