CONF: World steel demand into a low growth era

Global steel consumption is entering a low growth period where consumption this year is anticipated to increase 1.8% on year to 1.62 billion tonnes and slow to a lower rise of 0.7% on year to 1.63 billion tonnes for 2019, Edwin Basson, Director General of World Steel Association (WSA), stated at the 2018 SEAISI Conference & Conference in Jakarta, Indonesia, on June 25.
