According to news from Huayou Cobalt, POSCO HY Clean Metal, a joint venture project between Huayou Cobalt and POSCO, successfully completed in Yulchon Industrial Park, Gwangyang City, Jeollanam-do, South Korea on July 7 local time. The completion of the project marks Huayou Cobalt's formal entry into the South Korean recycling market.
POSCO HY Clean Metal is a battery recycling factory with annual processing capacity of 12,000 tonnes of black mass and can produce 12,000 tonnes nickel, 4,000 tonnes cobalt sulfate, and 2,500 tonnes lithium carbonate per year.
