WEEKLY: China's Al prices retreat on weak fundamentals

Chinese prices of primary aluminum slipped during June 22-28 under the pressure of weak fundamentals, while market activity also cooled during the holiday break for China's Dragon Boat Festival over June 22-24, Mysteel Global learned.

As of June 28, the country's national average price of 99.7% primary aluminum had dropped by Yuan 238/tonne ($32.8/t) from June 21 to reach Yuan 18,564/t including the 13% VAT, according to Mysteel's assessment. In tandem, domestic prices of aluminum derivatives also declined, with the most-traded aluminum contract for August
