WEEKLY: China's spot FeSi prices edge up, futures surge

China's spot market prices for ferrosilicon (FeSi) saw modest gains over October 21-28, while its futures posted stronger performance, thanks to the optimistic sentiment rising across the domestic ferrous market late last week, Mysteel Global notes.

Mysteel's assessment of the national price for 75% FeSi in China inched up by Yuan 50.6/tonne ($7.1/t) over the week to reach Yuan 6,194.8/t as of October 28. In the derivatives market, the FeSi futures even jumped to a two-week high on Friday, driven by robust momentum across ferrous commodities.
