China's solar power industry witnessed explosive growth in 2024, with installed capacity surging nearly 50% last year, underscoring the nation's commitment to transitioning toward renewable energy and cutting carbon emissions, industry watchers say. By end-December, China's total solar power capacity reached 886.66 million kilowatts (kW), a staggering 45.2% jump from 609.49 million kW in 2023, according to data released by the National Energy Administration (NEA) on January 21. The country added 277.17 million kW in new capacity during the year – a
