NEA: China to produce 4.8 billion tonnes of coal in 2025

China will strive for a total coal production of 4.8 billion tonnes next year as part of efforts to ensure energy security while the country navigates the path of green transition, state media CCTV reported on December 16, citing the National Energy Administration (NEA).
During the first 11 months of this year China produced 4.32 billion tonnes of coal, a 1.2% rise from the same period last year, the latest data from the national Bureau of Statistics showed. This annualizes to roughly 4.7 billion tonnes for 2024, which would exceed last year's record
