WEEKLY: Accumulation in China's iron ore port stocks slows

Imported iron ore stocks at China's major 45 ports continued accumulating, albeit by a much smaller 248,500 tonnes or 0.2% from February 4, to reach 153.9 million tonnes as of February 13, according to Mysteel's latest survey results.

The port inventories witnessed a marginal increase despite the higher discharge rates at ports, since the iron ore arrivals had increased markedly last week, Mysteel Global noted. Chinese integrated steelmakers began to replenish the feedstock from the spot market at ports for their blast furnace operations after the eight-day Chinese
