MYSTEEL: China's SiMn output falls 9% on month in February

Total production of silicomanganese (SiMn) in China declined in February to reach 803,880 tonnes, lower by 83,080 tonnes or 9.4% on month and ending the continuous rise over the prior four months, according to Mysteel's latest monthly survey among the 187 Chinese SiMn smelters it tracks.

The sampled smelters host 99% of China's SiMn smelting capacity. On a daily basis, average SiMn output during February registered 28,710 tonnes/day, still higher by 99 t/d or 0.3% compared with the previous month, the survey results showed, mainly because February has three fewer days.
