China's aluminum scrap imports seen rising firmly in 2025

China's imports of aluminum scrap totalled 323,105 tonnes during January-February this year, higher by a significant 12.1% compared with the same period last year, according to data recently released by the country's General Administration of Customs (GACC).

The increase in the total imports was attributed by the jump in the volume in February, which surged 39.8% on year to reach 164,430 tonnes, while in January the total was 7% lower on year at 158,676 tonnes, the data showed. Trading activity in China's aluminum scrap market picked up
